It was back in December of 2008 that we moved to a new web hosting service and also a new website. During this time, the feedback has been very positive. With that said, there have been some issues regarding how the web content looks when using Internet Explorer 6. Issues such as accessing the DATES-Line Newsletter using Internet Explorer 6. Anyway, I would like to ask each of you to verify the version of Internet Explorer that you are running. If you are running Internet Explorer 6 and you don't feel comfortable upgrading to Internet Explorer 8, I would like to recommend some alternatives (note that the alternative web browsers can be installed without interfering with Internet Explorer 6).
The web browsers listed above can be downloaded for free. If you have any questions regarding the recommended web browsers or would like assistance on installing one of the web browsers, please send an e-mail to

New Maps and GPS Features Added! |

DATES has been collecting and publishing maps of great cycling routes in North Texas and around the state for over 15 years. In an effort initiated by John McManus, we've added a new feature that allows upload and download of cycling routes from GPS devices. Uploaded GPS tracks can be viewed in Google Earth and GPS data from stored routes can be downloaded for use in member's GPS devices. John has also included printable maps and queue sheets for routes that he's mapped out. The hope is that club members will add their favorite rides to our archive, which will provide a resource for finding recommended (and verified) riding routes. The GPS mapping feature can be accessed by clicking the Maps - GPS Routes link from the Member Stuff page.
We've also added a section containing route maps that can be downloaded and printed. These are the set of routes collected from club members that were on the old web site. These can be found in the Member Stuff section under Maps - Route Maps & Descriptions. |

As you can see, we've moved DATES to a new website. The new site is part of a "content management system," which will allow multiple users (like ride leaders and club officers) to add and edit content on the DATES site. We've also changed the look of the site, which we hope will make it attractive and easier to use. Since a major goal was to get more people involved in providing content, we encourage users to explore the site and contact us to learn about how to contribute. We also encourage feedback about how we can make the site better. Email all your questions and comments to:
